Old Delhi City Tour – Heritage Walk Through Chandni Chowk

Start your day at 9:00 AM after pick-up from your hotel or a location of your choice in Delhi. The route weaves through the narrow streets of Old Delhi, the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s citadel.

Jama Masjid- Largest mosque in India with beautiful huge courtyards and stunning architecture in Red Sandstones. From here, squeeze through jammed pack ricksha walled streets on a memorable rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, one of oldest and busiest markets in Asia. Drift through crannies stocked with spice merchants, jewelers and traditional sweet sellers that sell you a slice of daily living.

Then continue to Raj Ghat, the tranquil memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, for a moment of repose. You’ll also see the majestic Red Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – pause for photos outside.

As the circuit arrives in New Delhi, the atmosphere shifts radically. Broad tree-lined streets, colonial era buildings and modern amenities tell a different tale in the capital city.

Go by the President’s House (the Rashtrapati Bhavan), the Parliament House – monuments to the country’s democratic rule. Visit India Gate, the grand war memorial to Indian soldiers, and take some snaps.

Lunch will be taken at a designated local restaurant (meal not included), your guide will offer advice for any special diet requirements you have.

In the afternoon, visit the Qutub Minar – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for being one of the tallest brick minarets in the world and its Indo-Islamic style of carvings.

Continue to Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO monument and breathtaking architectural forefather of the Taj Mahal, situated amidst magnificent Mughal gardens.

There may also be time and interest for a visit to the Lotus Temple, a peaceful and uniquely designed baha’i House of Worship, or to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, considered one of the most holy Sikh shrines in the city.

Between 5:30 and 6:00 PM your guide/driver will drop you off back to your hotel or location of choice in Delhi ending your tour of old delhi city with unforgettable experiences and valuable cultural knowledges.
