Overview

Shri Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth Mandir – Known as Chhatarpur Temple Delhi, it is much larger than Akshardham Temple that is situated at east of the city and known as the biggest temple in the world. Situated in South Delhi’s Chhatarpur locality, at a distance of 4 km from Qutub Minar, the holy place is a seat of Goddess Katyayani, the sixth form of Navadurga and an intense expression of Shakti.

Goddess Katyayani is shown on the lion with the divine Chandrahasa (sword) in her hand, which denotes power, bravery and safety. Everybody who is anybody comes to this temple of unity in faith and all castes, creeds and sects are welcome. Entirely made of marble, the temple complex exhibits a charming amalgamation of North and South Indian architectural styles and spans across almost 70 acres.

The beautifully carved Markandeya Mandapam and Jharpeer Mandir add to the sacred charm of the site.

Shayan Kaksha and Museum Visit

An extraordinary aspect of Chhatarpur Temple Delhi is the Shayan Kaksha of Navadurga with a bed, a dressing table and a meeting table with nine silver chairs – all of these are made of pure silver. Devotees can also view a museum constructed out of the home of Sant Shree Nagpal Ji the temple’s founder. It showcases items of a personal nature that he once utilized, inviting visitors to take a journey through his spiritual life.
